Important Information

Web API requires upgrading

Web API requires upgrading to the latest version (3.20) when upgrading Sybiz Vision 26.00 due to new security restrictions in place and other technology updates.

Minimum supported version of Microsoft SQL Server

The minimum supported versions of Microsoft SQL Server for Sybiz Vision 26 is 2017 (the same as the previous three versions). These compatibility levels are enforced with a message displaying on upgrade to version 23.00+ if the user’s minimum requirements fall outside of this scope prior to the database being upgraded.

We recommend that anyone upgrading their Microsoft SQL Server upgrades to the latest version available at the time, rather than to the minimum supported version, for not only greater longevity but also better performance capabilities. Sybiz 26 is compatible with the recently released Microsoft SQL Server 2025.

Operating system compatibility

Certain older operating systems (Microsoft Windows XP, some versions of Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Server 2003), Microsoft SQL Server (2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2016), and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 are not compatible with Sybiz 26.00 — if uncertain consult your Authorised Business Partner prior to upgrading. Microsoft Windows 11 is supported for Sybiz 26.00 with compatibility extending to some other later versions of Sybiz solutions.

DevExpress upgrade

Version 26.00 of Sybiz Vision utilises DevExpress version 25.1.6.0.

New & Enhanced

General Ledger Report Refresh

Sybiz has updated all standard report layouts in Sybiz Vision. Report data and calculations remain unchanged — only the appearance of standard layouts has been modernised. Custom report copies are unaffected and will continue to behave as before.

General Ledger and Lookup reports have been updated in 26.00, with the remaining report library scheduled to continue in Sybiz Vision 26.10.

These changes introduce a consistent layout standard, improve export reliability (no more annoying blank rows and columns), take advantage of new DevExpress Expressions, and prioritise readability for soft copy output over physical printing. A small number of outdated reports will also begin transitioning to an archive process based on customer feedback.

Assign Default User States to Users

Default User Sates make it easy to apply a consistent workspace for individual users. Once copied from an existing user, the default state can then be assigned to a user which will be used to control which columns/settings are applied to screens within the desktop program. Changes to grids will be allowed, but reset once the user closes the screen, restoring back to the default state. (CR210646248)

Cashflow Statement & Cashflow Account Type classification

A new cashflow statement report is available to provide insight as to what activities are contributing to the cash position of the company based on transaction date and the new cashflow account type assigned to general ledger accounts that are directly used by cashbook and similar transactions. (CR2309-2592)

Finer General Ledger controls for cashbooks and fixed asset journals

General ledger accounts have control settings to determine which accounts can be used within cashbooks and/or fixed asset journals, to minimise an incorrect account being used. (CR2506-4732)
