Cloud users take note: Microsoft is ending support for the Remote Desktop Client on 27 March 2026, which is being replaced by Windows App.

Windows App is Microsoft’s latest offering to access Azure Virtual Desktop environment, Windows 365 and Microsoft Dev Box. Windows App allows you to securely connect to you Windows environment with easy across a variety of devices. 

Prior to the deadline, both pieces of software can be used to connect to the cloud, so it’s advised for users to familiarise themselves with the new Windows App ahead of the 27 March switchover point. 

Both Windows App and the outgoing Remote Desktop Client are locally installed pieces of software which facilitate access to your cloud solutions. Consult with your IT professional about installing the appropriate software on your system.

Windows App is available for Windows, MacOS, Apple iOS, Android/Chrome OS and through updated web browsers.

Those who access their desktop via the Remote Desktop Client, including SybizCloud users, are required to switch to the new app before the 27 March 2026 deadline.
