On 1 October 2026, Microsoft will cease operation of Exchange Web Service (EWS) in Exchange Online. The service stopped receiving new feature updates in 2018 and will be discontinued in less than 12 months. This will have an effect on any business currently using Office 365 for email integration.
In its place is Microsoft Graph, a unified and all-encompassing bit of kit which acts as a gateway to data and intelligence to Microsoft cloud services such as Microsoft 365. The consolidation of communication methods under Microsoft Graph will lead to a more robust security profile across Microsoft products.
If your business currently makes use of Office 365 for email with your Sybiz solutions, take the time now to plan your Sybiz upgrades and migration from Microsoft’s EWS to Microsoft Graph. The technically inclined may wish to check out more about the new Microsoft standard. Don’t be caught unaware with your communication needs.
