From 1 October 2026, Exchange Web Service (EWS) in Exchange Online can no longer be used for email. The service stopped receiving new feature updates in 2018 and has been replaced by more modern technology. This change effects on any business using Office 365 for email integration.

In its place is Microsoft Graph, a unified and all-encompassing bit of kit which acts as a gateway to data and intelligence to Microsoft cloud services such as Microsoft 365. The consolidation of communication methods under Microsoft Graph will lead to a more robust security profile across Microsoft products.

If your business currently makes use of Office 365 for email with your Sybiz solutions, take the time now to plan your Sybiz upgrades and migration from Microsoft’s EWS to Microsoft Graph. The technically inclined may wish to check out more about the new Microsoft standard. Don’t be caught unaware with your communication needs.

To check your settings in Sybiz Products, use the Application Button (top left) and go to Settings, Email Settings (or Options) and ensure the method used is not Office 365. Sybiz Vision users should also check the adjacent Bulk Email Options too. To avoid confusion Microsoft 365 uses the new method, Office 365 uses the old method.

If a change is required within your Sybiz solutions and potentially other applications within your organisaction, consult with your IT providers as soon as possible. Please note that failure to take action will result in emails failing to send and although errors will be reported with your Sybiz product, the errors are outside of Sybiz's control.
