Child Support Reporting

From Sybiz Visipay 24.00 it is possible to utilise STP2 for Child Support Reporting which will flow through to Services Australia.

Employers need to be directed by Services Australia to collect and report deductions and garnishees. As such, Sybiz Visipay now includes two new categories for deduction pay items, one for Child Support Deduction, the other for Child Support Garnishee. If one of both of these are relevant, simply add new deduction pay items as necessary. The Type, Payment Method and Calculation Methods are preset based on the selection of the Category.

Services Australia use STP2 data in a different manner than the Australian Taxation Office. Services Australia compares new pay event data to the previous pay event and analyse the movement in year to date balances reported. As such it is imperative that STP2 reporting is complete, accurate and on time and this includes the need to include relevant employees in each pay event, even if they have not received a pay in that period.
